Such line was quoted from my cousin,
and my mother,
and I realize almost everyone around me,
adopted such a belief.
A capitalistic deception.
Born out of ego’s inability to comprehend,
beyond false identification.
Money can only buy us things
to stimulate, and to achieve,
pleasure,
which is commonly misunderstood as
happiness.
But pleasure is not happiness.
I have seen numerous rich men,
possesses so many things of pleasure;
they ended in depression and suicide anyway.
I have seen numerous poor men,
possesses so little pleasure in life;
yet they are able to smile brightly otherwise.
Happiness does not relate with pleasure.
Nor does it relate with money at all.
It comes from within,
from the peace of mind,
and peace of mind comes from freedom,
from detachment from external things–
–including money!
