The brown turtle on the backyard,
comes out of her hideout,
when the rain falls down.
She wanders around in slow motion.
Never in rush, she stops and searches among the grass,
something she can eat,
or a pool she can soak herself into.
She looks up to the sky,
staring at the space beyond her reach,
and standing still,
–fully immersed herself in the joy of passing moment–
as the time goes by…
When the rain stops, she turns around,
and walks back to the hideout–
–content with whatever the moment presents her…

I guess we will find Zen masters wherever we look. From the wise old man who delivers profound words, to the silence of the night when one is all alone, to the hard concrete that reminds us to remain focused by grazing our knees if we fall down through not exercising enough awareness… No hurry… No worry…

@ Surjit: You’re welcome Surjit
@ Derek: My… you’re absolutely right! The gate to Zen is in everything in the moment. Thank you for your valuable insight!

The turtle has not encountered anything dangerous. It is easy to be content in the moment when there is no threat to one’s well-being.
True enlightenment gives one a peace at the core even in the face of adversity or physical threat to one’s existence. Being in the face of non-being is contentment. One must find the way to that place in order to truly live in every moment.
There is a peace that transcends understanding. My peace I leave with you.

Thanks for the additional Richard
It is indeed easier to be content in the moment when there is no threat to one’s well being. But still, many people are not content with present moment even though there is no threat–that is desire.
Even when there is threat, the turtle reacts for the sake of the moment. This alone has made her, in a way, wise

To recongnize inner contentment persists, regardless of external circumstances, is to raise self-awareness. In a way, every being is a reflection of this timeless, turtle energy.
