A grass never wishes to be
as tall and as strong as a banyan tree.
Nor a giant fig tries to blossom
flowers like an orchid.
Each of them is as perfect as it is meant to be;
they just be.
Yes. So true Rizal. I like to believe there is no jealousy because they all have the same ‘root’. They are brothers and sisters coming from the same mother. Too bad the human race is so blind. We need these lessons. Keep up the great writing.

A nice post….brief but quite meaningful.
Thanks for sharing.
God bless.

It makes me think also about a wheel or car or so on. That the engine may feel a degree of superiority but is going nowhere without each and every spoke, washer, nut and bolt.

@ Shinzen: Hi Shinzen… they all have “roots” indeed! Some religion teaches we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. But again, remembering that we all come out of Nothingness, and will be back to Nothingness, reminds us that we come from the same source; we are One :)

@ Surjit: It’s been a while since your last comment. Welcome again, thanks for the comment :)

@ Tawan: Nice metaphor! I remember using the same metaphor to explain how each of them should be in their place so that they can work perfectly as one. Thanks Tawan :)

Maybe someday people will outgrow egoism.
Or maybe mother nature will have to start over again and this time stop at flora and just forget about doing fauna. Intelligent life as flora might make more sense. I mean even if, say, intelligent trees got really mad at each other, what could they do?
If only I had been around at the start of life on earth and they’d had a suggestions box..

I had laughter reading your comment Paul, it’s entertaining in a way. Thanks for the treat! :D
I believe people will eventually outgrow egoism–at least some says it is the destination of evolution. Imagine, an intelligent being whose simple, wise, and humble life is not given–like the trees’–but consciously chosen?
I would love to have one on a pot :D :D :D

Hi Rizal,
Oh I love the simplicity and power of this. Everything has a purpose and there is a purpose for eveything. :D

Humans have an ego conditioned to differentiate and compare. Notice why the urge exists to view things and self as separate. The essence of being is all things. One accepts or rejects self and is invited to listen to messages conveyed through heart and soul.
